Easy and Haunting Halloween Cocktail Drinks to Cheer the Spooky Season

Spooky season is coming up and it's time to mix up some creepy but thirst-quenching Halloween cocktail drinks to toast the season. Here are some easy and delicious Halloween-themed cocktail recipes to sip on or serve on Halloween night.

Liquid Web Cocktails Recipe by Katie Jacobs

Total prep time: 10 minutes

Yields: 2 cocktails

What you'll need:

  • 3 oz. chocolate liqueur
  • 3 oz. coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa)
  • 2 oz. milk
  • Lightly sweetened whipped cream
  • Ice 
  • Pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg

How to mix:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add chocolate liqueur and coffee liqueur, milk, whipped cream; shake until chilled. 
  2. Strain into cocktail glasses. 
  3. Garnish with pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg. 
  4. Top with small plastic spiders.

Total prep time: 5 minutes

Yields: 14 servings

What you'll need:

  • ½ cup cherry schnapps
  • ½ cup vodka - see note 1
  • 1 cup whiskey
  • ⅓ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cups cherry soda

How to mix:

  1. In a pitcher, pour the cherry schnapps, vodka, whisky and lemon juice.
  2. Stir well with a cup of ice.
  3. Gently pour in the cherry soda and stir carefully to combine.

To serve:

Either pour into a punch bowl for guests to help themselves or serve in sugar rimmed glasses with a spooky spider garnish.

Yields: 9 servings

What you'll need:

  • 4 c. purple grape juice
  • 1 c. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda
  • Garnish: Vanilla ice cream, confetti sprinkles

How to mix:

  1. In a large pitcher, add grape juice and melted ice cream; mix until blended. 
  2. Before serving, add soda and stir just until blended.
  3. Pour into glasses and top each serving with a small scoop of ice cream and sprinkles.

What you'll need:

  • 2 oz black vodka
  • 3 oz cranberry juice

How to mix:

  1. In a highball glass filled with ice, pour the cranberry juice.
  2. Float the vodka on top by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon to disrupt the flow. Or you can slowly drizzle the vodka onto the cranberry juice for a swirling effect. 
  3. Serve and enjoy.

Total prep time: 10 minutes

Yields: 10 servings

What you'll need:

  • ½ cup superfine granulated sugar
  • 2 quarts water
  • 1 can limeade frozen concentrate, thawed
  • 4 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 (1 liter bottle) ginger ale
  • 2 (0.13-oz) lime-flavored unsweetened drink mix (such as Kool-Aid) (or a couple drops green food coloring)
  • bug ice (or just plain ice)

How to mix:

  • Make ice cubes the night before, or several days in advance. 

Place small plastic bugs, from a craft store, in ice cube trays, fill with water and then freeze. Keep them in the freezer until ready to use.

To make punch:

  1. In a large bowl, pour the sugar. 
  2. Stir in the water, limeade, pineapple juice, ginger ale and lime drink mix (or food coloring). 
  3. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. 
  4. Pour the ice into the punch and serve chilled.

What you'll need:

  • 2 oz Silver Tequila
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 4 oz Blood Orange Juice
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • Ice
  • fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • slices of blood orange and lime for garnish
  • gummy eyeball candy skewered on stir sticks

How to mix:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add ingredients and shake until well chilled.
  2. Pour over a glass of ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary, slices of blood orange and lime and a gummy eyeball stir stick.
