Fantastic Cocktail Drinks for your Día de Los Muertos Celebration at Home

Día de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a Mexican annual tradition to honor their loved ones who have passed away. Aside from an altar with lots of food dedicated to their beloved ones who passed away, they also celebrate by preparing delicious Mexican dishes and drinking fantastic cocktail drinks. For a more festive Día de Los Muertos celebration, here are some cocktail recipes that will surely please everyone...even the spirits!
El Guapo Cocktail Recipe | Todd Covelli
Here's what you need:
- 2 oz tequila
- .5 oz pear syrup
- .75 oz lime juice
- Top with ginger beer
- Dehydrated lime wheel
How to mix it:
- In a mixing tin, combine tequila, lime, and prickly pear.
- Shake well and strain into a rocks glass.
- Top with ginger beer and garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel
Patrón Paloma Roja | Gentlemen's Journal
Here's what you need:
- 50 ml Patrón Silver tequila
- 75 ml Grapefruit juice
- 15 ml Lemon juice
- 15 ml St~Germain Elderflower Liqueur
- 15 ml Hibiscus syrup*
How to mix it:
- In a shaker with ice, combine all ingredients.
- Shake to chill and combine.
- Strain into a salt & dried hibiscus-rimmed Collins glass filled with fresh ice
Sunset Hummingbird - Zero Waste Cocktail Recipe | Rachael Hogg
Here's what you need:
- 45 ml Altos Reposado tequila
- 15 ml turmeric and ginger syrup
- 10 ml Ramazotti
- 20 ml lemon juice
- 2 dashes of Butterfly Pea Peychauds
How to mix it:
- Shake the ingredients together.
- Serve in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a Marigold flower and 2 drops of Neroli oil.

Here's what you need:
- 3 oz Blanco tequila - we used Don Julio
- 2 oz lavender simple syrup
- 2 oz lemon juice
- ½ of a green bell pepper
- Paprika to taste
- Sea salt to taste
How to mix it:
- Rim glass with paprika and salt
- Combine all ingredients and muddle green bell pepper
- Add ice and shake vigorously
- Pour into rocks glass over ice
- Garnish with a lime wheel

Here's what you need:
- 0.75 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
- 0.75 oz lime juice
- 0.75 oz Grapefruit Syrup
- 3 oz Squirt Soda
- 3 oz Grapefruit Beer
Here's how to mix it:
- Add all the ingredients, save for the garnish, to a highball with cubed ice.
- Stir and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
