Spooky Forest Pudding Cups Recipe
These Spooky Forest Pudding Cups from Tara Bench of Country Living are fun and will surely delight chocolate lovers or not.

Total prep time: 3 hours and 50 minutes
Yield: 10 servings
Here's what you need:
- 1 ½ c. sugar
- ½ c. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 c. cornstarch
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- 3 ½ c. whole milk
- 6 large egg yolks
- 8 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
- 20 whole chocolate sandwich cookies, plus 12 crushed
- 1 ½ c. chocolate candy melts
- 4- or 6-inch bamboo skewers
- Chocolate sprinkles, optional
- Candy pumpkins, for decorating
Here's how to make it:
- In a medium saucepan, add sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt; stir. Add milk and eggs; stir. Cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, until mixture just begins to bubble and thicken, (whisk from time to time, make sure to stir the bottom and inside corners of the pan to prevent scorching.) Remove from heat. Add chocolate, butter, and vanilla. Stir until chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Prepare 10 juice glasses. Place 1 whole cookie on the bottom of each glass (about 6 ounces each). Top each glass with half of the pudding, dividing evenly. Top each glass with a second cookie. Top each glass with remaining pudding, dividing evenly. Top with crushed cookies, dividing evenly; cover and chill.
- On a baking sheet, place the tree template under a sheet of parchment.
- Melt candy melts according to package directions. Transfer to a heavy-duty zip-top bag and cut a small hole in one corner. Pipe a line of melted chocolate on the trunks of the trees and place the bamboo skewers on top. Pipe chocolate over the bamboo skewer and over the rest of the lines on the template to create trees (this can be done loosely—there is no need to follow the template exactly). Sprinkle the branches with chocolate sprinkles. Chill until set.
- Insert chocolate trees into glasses of pudding and decorate with candy pumpkins.
Breadstick Rattlers Recipe
These Breadstick Rattlers from Country Living are tasty and easy to make.

Yield: 12 pieces
Here's what you need:
- 1 13. 8-oz.tube refrigerated pizza dough
- 10 ½-inch chopstick
- olive oil
- poppy seeds for garnishing
- sesame seeds for garnishing
- black olives for garnishing
- dried chilies for garnishing
- store-bought tomato soup
Here's how to prepare it:
- Unroll pizza dough. Cut into 12 strips on the long side and roll each into 12-inch ropes, tapering one end (to create the tail) and flattening the other end (to create the head). Wrap each rope in a spiral around a greased chopstick. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle the body with poppy seeds and tails with sesame seeds. Cut black olives into small triangles and place them on the head of each snake to make the eyes.
- Place the rolled dough on two parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350°F until golden brown for 15 to 18 minutes. Let them cool for 3 minutes before carefully removing chopsticks. While still warm, use a toothpick to carefully thread dried chilies (cut into tongues) into the tip of the flat end of each snake to make the tongue.
- Serve with store-bought tomato soup. For added flair, put the soup in a cauldron-like cast iron pot.
Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Hot Dog Mummies Recipe
These Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Hot Dog Mummies from Food Network Kitchen are spooky-licious and the kids will surely love them!

Total prep time: 55 minutes
Yields: 8 servings
Here's what you need:
- One 16-ounce package bun-size hot dogs (8 hot dogs), each halved crosswise
- 2 oz. Cheddar, cut into 16 thin slices
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- ¼ tsp. garlic powder
- ¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 8 sheets phyllo dough
- 4 oz. (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- Ketchup, yellow mustard, barbecue sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce, for serving and decorating
Here's how to prepare it:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut a slit in each hot dog piece and stuff with a slice of cheese. Set aside. In a small bowl, combine the salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Work with one sheet of phyllo one at a time and keep the rest covered under a damp towel or paper towels. On a large cutting board or counter and lightly brush with melted butter lay a phyllo sheet. Lightly sprinkle with some of the spice mix and fold in half lengthwise. Brush the top with more melted butter and cut into 1/2-inch-thick strips. To create a mummy look, use 2 pieces of stuffed hot dogs per phyllo sheet, wrap half of the strips around each piece of hot dog. Leave a small section of hot dog exposed towards the top so it looks like the top part of the face peeking out from the phyllo wrappings. Don't worry about frayed edges or tears-- it will add to the mummy look.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining phyllo, melted butter, spice mix, and hot dogs. Re-melt the butter if it cools down too much while forming the mummies.
- Bake until the phyllo is crisp and golden brown, about 25 minutes. If desired, dot ketchup or mustard eyes on each mummy using a toothpick and serve with extra sauces for dipping.
