Nothing evokes the holiday vibe better than mulled wine. We have seen quite a few versions but swear by this one at our holiday feasts. This recipe uses the finest ingredients to give you just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the zing in every sip.

Mulled Wine

  • 1 tablespoon of nutmeg
  • Pinch of grated ginger

Here is how you make it:

  1. In a large saucepan, combine all of the ingredients but leave out the red wine - we will add that later.
  2. Allow the mixture to simmer for at least 2 minutes.
  3. Add about ⅓ of the wine and continue simmering the mixture until it becomes thick and sticky.
  4. Allow the spices to permeate the mixture before adding the rest of your wine. Let it simmer for 5 more minutes.
  5. Do not ever bring the mixture to a boil as this can cause the alcohol to evaporate.
  6. Pour in a strainer before serving.Serve hot and use orange slices for garnish.
